We are pleased to announce the return of director David Keating’s Fearless Pitching workshop for 16 Full and Associate members of Directors UK.
David Keating says, “In order to bring collaborators on board our projects, we need to be able to talk about our work in ways that make people pay attention and want to get involved.
Anxiety and general un-readiness can leave us sounding unclear and uninspired when we pitch, and yet what we are talking about are exciting projects we are passionate about making. This disconnect means, although our intention is to generate engagement and excitement in our audience, for various reasons, we may not pull it off or do as well as we could.”
This one-day workshop brings an easily adaptable approach and set of techniques that enable directors to play to their strengths and present their work in ways that will help get results.

How to Take Part
Please send an up-to-date copy of your CV to [email protected] with the subject line, ‘Fearless Pitching’ as well as a 300-word personal statement outlining the following:
• Why attending this workshop is important at this moment in your career. For example, are you preparing to deliver a pitch in the near future or have you delivered a pitch recently that didn’t go to plan?
• Any specific aspects of pitching you would like to discuss and develop
The deadline for applications is 12pm (midday) on Monday 28 April and applicants must be a Full or Associate member of Directors UK.
Applicants must be available for the full duration of the workshop.

David is an award-winning and critically-acclaimed feature film director and screenwriter. He has a Masters in Film & TV Studies (University of London), and regularly runs workshops and training for Directors UK, BAFTA and Screen Ireland and lectures in Film Directing at the National Film School in Dublin, Ireland. He is passionate about making stories in VR and XR.
