We’re pleased to announce that the Directors UK community is continuing to grow, and has just passed the fantastic landmark of seven thousand members.
This figure means that one thousand new members have signed up since September 2015, and two thousand have signed up in the last five years. Thank you to everyone who has joined, renewed their subscriptions and spread the word about Directors UK to their fellow directors.
Directors UK Membership Officer Kate Parish said: “In the last year we have seen 486 new members join, which is up on 462 the year before. It’s great to have so many new faces come aboard, and one of the most useful things members can do to keep this going is simply talking to their peers about the benefits of Directors UK and sharing our trace list”.
With the issues facing directors today – from pay and the status of director, to equal representation and career opportunity – it has never been more important to come together and function as one unified, powerful organisation. This will be particularly important in the near future as we launch the Directors Licensing Scheme, with a view to protecting the rights of directors in an uncertain media landscape.
There is strength in numbers, and one way you can help us become even stronger is by sharing our trace list. We do our own searches to contact the directors on the list – or the representatives of their estates - but some prove difficult to locate or have not responded to our communications. When members are personally able to make them aware of our work, it makes a world of difference.
Thank you for being a part of Directors UK. Next stop 8,000!
