The wait is over. Our highly anticipated Challenge ALEXA competition is back for its 8th year.

Once again, we have partnered with ARRI to offer Directors UK members the chance to win a two-day shooting package — but this year, for the first time, the package will include the new ALEXA Mini LF camera, released in March 2019, along with Signature Prime lenses.

Package

The winning package includes:

  • A two-day shoot with an ALEXA Mini LF camera and Signature Prime Lenses
  • Kit and Equipment insurance cover for the duration of the shoot
  • A small budget to help cover transport, grip and location costs.
  • A one-on-one kit demonstration at ARRI’s Uxbridge HQ
  • A premiere screening of this year’s Challenge ALEXA-winning films at a prestigious screening venue in London
  • Support from expert in-house teams at Directors UK and ARRI throughout the process, and into festival season
  • Opportunities to showcase your work at Directors UK and ARRI backed sessions at festivals and trade shows

What we’re looking for:

  • A project that would benefit from a truly cinematic, large-format look
  • A unique directorial vision that will benefit from ARRI’s world-leading equipment
  • An idea that best interprets this year’s theme: FREEDOM

So, if you have an idea for a short, teaser, commercial, music video, experimental or art film that fits the bill, what are you waiting for?
